Today I am sharing a video from a Christian in the Netherlands by the name of Johan Schep. The video is a recording of Johan preaching at a church gathering but this talk is in Dutch which might be unintelligible to most readers. At the end of his talk, Johan asks this 29 year old Israeli man by the name of Yotham to tell how he came to faith in Jesus the Messiah. The young man tells his testimony in English. I have edited the video but have left in Johan translating from English to Dutch. I wanted to show the bond between the older man and the younger man. In his first letter to a younger man, Timothy, Paul addresses him as 'my true child in the faith.' There is a similar close relationship between Johan and Yotham I found this young man's story very powerful especially in the context of the conflict between Israel and Gaza. There is another interesting element to this story.
Forty two years ago, Johan was instrumental in leading Israel Segal, a colonel in the Israeli army to faith in Jesus the Messiah. This happened in the Sinai peninsula. Now in this video, Johan shares the platform with a 29 year old son of the colonel and Yotham tells the story of coming to faith in Jesus Christ. It was the sudden tragic death of his younger brother which was the wake-up call for Yotham. "From my pain came faith."
