I have featured music from our younger daughter, Fiona Crow on Dayshare but I have never mentioned that Janie and I have an older daughter, Linda. Her husband is Peter McLean who reported on his trip to Uganda [16/04/2024]
Linda is our oldest in our family and she was born when we lived in a wee bungalow in Holmhead in Cumnock. She had beautiful red hair and was a very adventurous wee girl. Linda has been sharing some of her favourite hymns on Facebook and she has given me permission to feature her choices on this platform. I intend to make this a weekly feature. Here is her post on Facebook for 15th January 2024.
Ok Dad Robert Neilly just before you get cheeky, my FB fast is not over entirely. After some people commented on how they liked my advent song countdown, I decided to post a Worship Song of the Week.
Many of you will know that I am rarely happier than when I have a mic in my hand and get to sing/ lead the praise & worship at church. Temporarily unable to do this at the moment, I thought I’d use my time wisely and share some of my favourite worship songs over the 25 years of me being involved in church worship. Sometimes I will comment, other times it will just be the song and you can comment and give me suggestions if you like.
Do not fear, there will be a fair mix of old and new and hopefully a variety of artists too.
Songs often remind me of certain times in my life. Worship Song no.1 takes me right back to my days in Bethany Hall Paisley, as a young student, where this was a favourite of a lovely man named Gilbert Muir. I also happen to quite like Keith Green and was reading his book “No Compromise” at this same time. It is of course THERE IS A REDEEMER.
I have given you two versions. The first is Keith Green himself and the second is my talented wee sis Fiona Crow Enjoy and see you next Monday!
Here is the original version sung by Keith Green.
Here is Linda's wee sister, Fiona Crow singing 'There is a Redeemer.'
